A very good list for all wannabe entrepreneurs. Some of them were the most talked about startups this year and some even inspired a few startups here. Can we have a similar list for India? This group might be having some good experience with it. Meanwhile some key takeaways here 1. Always keep an eye on possible collisions with the law or unethical practices and tread carefully (Aereo, Monkey Parking, Secret) 2. Never forget the core premise - How will the business make money? One can have a great user base, leading to huge valuations but that necessarily doesn't translate into business success (Photopedia) 3. Be prepared to pivot your business if the original plan isn't working as intended. Throughout the business journey you have to be agile to survive in the market. Valuations are just numbers. (Fab) 4. A fad cannot be a norm. Just because you tasted a huge success in the beginning, doesn't mean you can translate that into a sustainable business solution (Flappy Bird, Yo, Rovio) 5. Often a stupid sounding idea can be worth millions...but not always sustainable (Outbox) 6. Creating Buzz is different from creating Business...unless you're making movies (Clinkle) 7. However big you grow, always keep your ears to the ground. Understand what your customer needs. Not everyone can be an Apple (Taskrabbit) http://ift.tt/1rl4SR3
