A textbook query: Google isn't really helping. A compass needle is kept in the centre of a bar magnet. How will it behave? In my opinion, the needle will align along the length with its magnetic south pointing towards the North pole of the bar magnet. However, have received very different answers from some other credible sources. The point of confusion is placing the needle at the 'centre' of the bar magnet. Want to know if this actually makes a difference. Please help. No trolling please.
