Hi guys, need some advice. I sold a car in October 2013 to someone named Murthy and in turn collected the delivery note. I assumed that the new owner would transfer the papers to his name, however I received a speeding violation dated March 25th 2015 yesterday. When I called Murthy, he said that he sold the vehicle to another person called Amith the same day and gave me Amith's number. I called Amith and he sold the vehicle to someone called Vinod a few months later and gave me Vinod's number, when I called Vinod he says that he sold the vehicle to someone in Mysore around June 2014 and does not have any papers or contact information for the new owner. Now all these people starting from Murthy to Amith to Vinod to the unknown new owner have sold the car to one another without actually transferring the original papers from my name at all. What can I do to legally protect myself from any problems? Please advice.
